Black rhinos love their routines – and Chamboi is nothing if not a good black rhino! He begins every morning with a long drink at this specific water trough. Once he’s feeling sufficiently hydrated, he meanders off into the bush for a day of exploring with his Keepers. We cannot rush the ritual, nor would we! Rescued as a newborn orphan in late 2023, Chamboi has grown a lot over the past two years – but even still, his journey with us is just beginning. When he is a bit older, we will begin the complex rewilding phase, supporting Chamboi as he establishes a territory and integrates with local rhino populations. But right now, we’re still in the Keeper-dependent nurturing phase. Discover Chamboi's story:

I took Doxy for a staph infection in Australia. (In my nail bed and DHL lost my MB shipment). Regardless I thought Australias food was just cleaner and training 3-4x a day is why I got insanely shredded. Didn’t realize until after the Doxy wore off that I didn’t feel as good digesting food again and bloating came back some. Started a 4 week cycle of berberine, black seed oil, bismuth, and oregano oil. Amazing comeback. Now starting to make L Rueteri yogurt at home and get some Longum going. The gut is complex, I’ve had gut issues since I was 17, most of them are gone, not expecting anything wild or quick but I’ll keep updates.

Nolan’s Odyssey is so close to being great. Here’s my spoiler review after just having reread Homer’s Odyssey. First off, the good: the look and feel of the film is incredible. But the greatest accomplishment must be the pacing. Nolan managed to follow the in media res structure, include (most) of the big episodes, without any of it feeling rushed. I particularly like how he combined many scenes (e.g. Calypso, lotus eaters, and Phaeacians) into one. If he had just avoided these three mistakes this would’ve been legendary: 1. Odysseus is Overly Moralized 2. Deception is Underutilized 3. Racially-Mixed Ithacans Breaks Immersion (it’s not just black Helen of Troy but the mixed White/Black/Indian/Chinese crew of Odysseus that subverts a key premise of the story) Each of these contributes to a lack of mystery in the film. I elaborate on each of the points below (spoilers).

Oh the dialogue is good, real good. This part of the podcast started off with Antwan "Ish" Marby (Cohost) leading his argument w/ Dr. Umar about how there really is no Democrats v. Republicans because they both don’t care about Blacks and simply use different tactics to garner our votes—which everyone was in agreement with. He then attempted to use that point to connect with the fact that because of this, he believes the bigger issue at hand in America was class not race. Dr. Umar proceeds to quickly deliver a rebuttal to this belief, by highlighting how other races/ethnicities have been weaponized to stifle & undermine Black progression and how White privilege is still an advantage even in the face of poverty or economic inequality. He reiterates that in America, race trumps everything.

Jim Jarmusch on why editing is similar to sculpting & how he wanted "Dead Man" (1995) to feel like: "Interviewer: Are you the kind of director who finds the film in the cutting room or do you do the montage in your head as you shoot? Jarmusch: I’m in-between. When | go in the cutting room, I have a pretty good idea of how a scene was intended to be cut together. The editing is very important because you get to a Zen-like place where the film starts telling you how to cut it. A lot of scenes were shot for 'Dead Man' that are not in the film. Shooting is like cutting up big pieces of granite that are sort of in the right shape of the thing you want to sculpt out of them. And then you go back, and the shape is not exactly what you had in mind so you sculpt them some more. I like the process. That’s why I never use a storyboard, and on 'Dead Man' I didn’t even have shot lists in advance. I don’t want to know in advance what we’re going to do because then we are not thinking on our feet. Interviewer: How did you work out the conception of the film’s look with DP Robby Miiller? It’s a black-and-white film with lots of shades of gray. And the landscapes were quite ugly but beautifully so. Jarmusch: We worked hard to use black and white like it was used in the ’30s and ’40s when the gray scale was the color palette. We wanted to avoid the recent “hard” black-and-white look, although the blacks are very black and the whites are very white. We wanted a feeling like a film by Mizoguchi. And when we were scouting for locations, whenever we saw any magnificent view, like a postcard type, we would appreciate it, Robby and I, and then turn out backs and look for our location with that out of view." Get used to this. This is a vision of the future as we become a minority in our own country. DEI hire, an unfair legal system and gang attacks on white kids. I see videos of it every day. Our descendants are really going to have a tough life in this country because of decisions our governments are making today. If there is anyone who hate us more than the immigrants that move here. It’s their children. They grow up with a victim mentality, full of bitterness and resentment. They pledge allegiance to a shithole country they wouldn’t even visit for a holiday, let alone live there. While also hating Britain. They treat us like shit while simultaneously feeling like a victim and accuse us of racism if we dare to notice what is happening. It’s time we started calling it all out. If the boot was on the other foot they would be happy to burn the country down for it. Like we’ve seen many times before. Never let a racist lecture you about racism.
