A number of pipe bands marched through Belfast on Saturday. The parade was organised by the Ulster Scots Agency and featured Campbell College Pipe Band, Mass Pipe Band, Major Sinclair Pipe Band and the Northern Ireland Drum Major Group who led the parade. The march began at the Ulster Scots Agency's headquarters on Gordon Street at 11.30am before proceeding along Dunbar Link, Great Patrick Street, York Street, then down Royal Avenue and around City Hall, ending on Donegal Square South. 🎥 Colm Lenaghan

This is absolutely wonderful! Balaklava Coy 5 SCOTS spotted Jimmy Fallon (who’s in Scotland on a solo trip) & invited him to dinner. His hotel manager lent him his kilt & full regalia & one of the battalion made him his own kilt that night, as well as gift him a regimental cap 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

THIS WAS THE BRITISH ARMY FIGHTING ITS WAY INTO BASRA IN 2003. During the invasion of Iraq, Britain's 7th Armoured Brigade pushed towards Basra with Challenger 2 tanks, Warriors and infantry from units including the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and Irish Guards. On 26 March, a large Iraqi tank force tried to attack the British positions. Challenger 2s of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards engaged them, with 15 Iraqi T-55s destroyed and no British tanks lost in the battle. A few days later, British forces were pushing into Basra itself. Watching this footage now, it's easy to forget just how much of the British Army was committed to this operation. These weren't training exercises. This was the REAL thing.
