THAT is a GREAT movie. One of John Wayne's favorites; one of my all-timers, too.
With one of the greatest movie kisses of all time.
I had the great pleasure to visit Cong a couple of years ago, where it was mainly filmed. Great wee museum and tour of filming locations.
We're watching this today for what has to be the 53rd time. It never gets old.

I visited the Village of Cong offseasn so everything was closed. The real houses and pubs are there and preserved with brass plaques saying what scene they were in. Remember The dying Man's House. Walked over the stone bridge they fished from

It was never in black and white. It was filmed in glorious technicolour. Did you first see it on a black and white TV?
