This is an example of why defense is non existent in this game. In order to cover simple shit like quick throws to the flat we have to compromise our defense in the most unreasonable ways. And god forbid you’re playing a quick snap demon. That’s the only adjustment you’ll get.

💯

I mean in real life even when covering the flat, you’re going to carry the route in front of you for a few yards. I’ve never seen a CB stand flat footed at the LOS outside the hashes as a technique.

The logic isn't BAD from a real world pov It's bad from a competitive pov Like if youre expecting a quick flat and use a hard flat in anticipation for that, ideally he'd not give it up on a 4th and 1 Video is just showing how to get that aggressive flat protection

But if the corner stay low to play the flat, that curl/streak is left wide open from the gap between the corner and the safety. As someone else mentioned, the corner needs to jam/reroute the WR and then cover the flat.

Obviously something is going to be open But if you choose hard flats you're usually doing it with the intention to bag the checkdown And Cover 2 should only press when he's a cloud, not a hard flat

So you damn near gotta play em on zero because it seems like stock they play on 5😭

Advanced player like you should probably just scissor coverage that but yeah I don't like how they play stock

To be fair, an outside CB in cover 2 has responsibility to reroute his man first. The major problem with hard flats is the poor press/reroute not giving up 2-3 yards to the flats.

Hard flats will NEVER press/reroute That isn't their job. That's the job of a cloud flat (stock Tampa 2)
