Sikhs of whole country rejects reprehensible statement made by Chief Minister of Sikkim regarding issue of Gurdwara Sri Guru Dongmar Sahib Chandigarh: Addressing the press today at Chandigarh, the General Secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal and secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal Gurjeet Singh Talwandi condemned the statement made by the Chief Minister of Sikkim regarding Gurdwara Sri Guru Dongmar Sahib and said that this place is associated with the visit of Sri Guru Nanak Dev, the first Sikh Guru. The case of this Gurdwara Sahib is sub-judice at the High Court of Sikkim and the decision has been reserved by the honorable court. In violation of the honorable court, the Chief Minister of Sikkim said that under no circumstances will Gurdwara Sahib be allowed to be built, which is highly reprehensible and illogical. The SGPC is committed to maintaining this Gurdwara Sahib as per the Sikh Rehat Maryada (Code of Conduct) as it has an association of the visit of Sri Guru Nanak Dev. While the sentiments of the entire Sikh world have been hurt by the statement given by the Chief Minister of Sikkim, there is also a huge resentment in the community. It was also said by Bhai Grewal and Talwandi that no one will be allowed to commit arbitrary action under any circumstances. The Sikh community can even risk their lives for the maintenance and service of their historical shrines. A 750 page document presented in the court as a reference and evidence in this case, recording the history of the third Sumer Udasi by Sri Guru Nanak Dev was also placed before the press, which has the clear mention of Gurdwara Sri Guru Dongmar Sahib in Sikkim. Nobody mentions supreme sacrifice of Pt. Kripa ram of mattan south Kashmir who had sought assistance from Guru Teg Bahadur ji at Anandpur sb during tyranny of Aurangzeb 👇 Pt. ji wanted to accompany Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj to Delhi. Guru Maharaj asked him to, instead, stay back. He entrusted him with the responsibility of raising his nine year old son, the young Gobind Rai. Pt. Kripa Ram, a scholar of Sanskrit and Persian, and a teacher in philosophy and poetics, took charge of the education of young Gobind Rai who grew up to become the Dasham Guru Sri Gobind Singh ji Maharaj. Among his several works, he wrote Bichitra Natak in Sanskrit, Zafarnama in Persian and Chandi da Vaar in Braj bhasha. And when Guru Maharaj raised the Khalsa on a Baisakhi, Pt. Kripa Ram too partook of Amrit to become Bhai Kripa Singh. Years later, in the iconic battle of Chamkaur, he paid the supreme price defending the two elder sahibzadas of Guru Maharaj- Sri Ajit Singh and Sri Jujhaar Singh. It is not only our duty, and responsibility, but also of our future generations, to never forget these sacrifices and also keep this memory, alive and sacred, for all the future generations to come. It was Aurangzeb who spread Islam in India during his time period, and the Caliphate of Baghdad gifted him the sword of Imam Ali as an honour of spreading Islam in the Indian subcontinent. Bahadur Shah , one of the sons of Aurangjeb was inclined towards Shia ideology and he respected other faiths also. During the tenure of Aurangzeb, Bahadur Shah was the governor of Lahore, and he was aware of Guru Gobind Singh and his ideology and faith. He was not in good terms with his father Aurangjeb as his father was orthodox sunni .And Secondly, Bahadur Shah’s Persian teacher Bhai Nand Lal was a follower of Guru Gobind Singh. After the death of Aurangzeb, a war of succession broke between his sons, and Azam Shah, being eldest declared himself as successor. At that time of distress , the young princes was power hungry and looking for trustworthy people who can support them during that time.Azam Shah, eldest son of Aurangjeb occupied the throne and won the trust of few of governors and generals. So , Bahadur Shah started looking for people who can support him, and he was aware about Guru Gobind Singh ' bravery and his war strategies. Bhai Nand lal was the main person who requested Guru Gobind Singh to support Bahadur Shah. Guru Gobind Singh helped Bahadur Shah in the biggest battle , the battle of jajua , fought between the sons of Aurangjeb. Finally Bahadur Shah won , and the his brother was killed by the arrow fired from Guru Gobind Singh' army. Bahadur Shah thanked Guru Gobind Singh and invited him. On inviting , Guru Gobind Singh met Bahadur Shah and then Bahadur Shah honoured Guru Sahib with 'hind ka peer’ and honoured him with khilkat and sword of Imam Ali. He told the the sword of Ali should be with the Peer of hind and it should be owned by right person. Bahadur Shah was inclined towards shia ideology and respected the sacrifices made by Guru Sahib. #Sikhs #History
