He rescued Mimi and raised her as his own, caring for her from infancy through adulthood. He gave her not only a chance to live, but a chance to grow, to be loved, and to belong. He stood by her side through the years, supporting her until she eventually got married. However, her marriage did not last, as her husband constantly pressured and mistreated her, questioning her about a family she never had the chance to know.
