Meanwhile, prior to the incident, Harrison had raised an alert warning residents of Delta North about the resurgence of armed kidnappers in the area. Nevertheless, the victim was safely returned to his family, along with the ₦7.5 million initially taken by the kidnappers. He reportedly spent three days in captivity before his family paid ransom for his release. After the incident, the Nigerian police successfully recovered his vehicle and kept it at the police headquarters in Awka, Anambra State.
