This is not good… Jay Baxter said today Community notes do not affect visibility, but in a February podcast… Keith Coleman (VP of Product) and Jay Baxter (founding ML engineer), the minds behind Community Notes, admit a Community Note does in fact affect a post going viral. “The notes just totally take the wind out of these stories. So, like the thing will be going viral, note appears… resharing drops 50-60%, and that’s it.” So… they admit that it’s a verifiable way to stop a viral post in its tracks, because people are less likely to share. What happens when you begin targeting conservative accounts like The Vigilant Fox 🦊 Shadow of Ezra Liz Churchill

That's why we have, for example, community notes on the 𝕏 system where, in order for a community note to surface and provide corrective information about what somebody posts, people who have historically disagreed must agree. And all of the code for community notes is open source. All of the data is open source. So you can completely recreate it from scratch.
