This is a great example of how important it is to learn the value of visual communication. Aesthetics is an abstraction, not the value. There was absolutely nothing of substance communicated in this presentation. It's great to learn how to play and experiment and push yourself to learn new tools and skills. Never neglect the objective. Never neglect value. Learn to communicate for your client; not yourself. There are no great designers in the world. Only great communicators.

im not even gonna hate I just wanna give some tips to anyone that is getting into videography but their ideas for product promo end up looking like this shoot @ 120 fps, slow it down to 20%, 25%, or 50% speed for a cinematic 24fps, a dramatic 30fps, or a smoother 60fps that will produce noticeably less “normal” looking footage. You want a “larger THAN life” feel, not a “mm same size as life” vibe. If you ARE shooting with iphone, start at the 2x or 5x zoom range, that’s where you get a focal angle and DoF that’s more cinematic and “dslr-ish” for your subject (a shoe in this case). BE the zoom with your body, or for example use the age old camera on a skateboard trick. (I’ve attached my phone to the end of a tall floor-lamp because it had a circular swing that I really wanted to repeat for consistency) You need more light, there’s no such thing as too much light. the more light, the better. If you are casting a shadow on your subject you need more light (and also maybe back up a little) Focal angle and DoF are two easy things to change that will improve the feel 10x over, just a little bit of reading and looking at diagrams can help you visualize these concepts better i can’t think of anything else off the dome rn but those are just a few things ppl could study to step up their vision

It’s not seamless yet, but it’s a really good effort. He’s learning and it’s going to get better. Keep practicing!
