He doesn't have an issue with the statement Abdul made, but with the tweet that accompanied the statement: "The only issue I have with this is not this statement in and of itself, because it's exactly what he's said over and over... again, but it was this: tying it back to 'Hasan Piker's comments regarding Jeremy Moss.' This legitimizes the smear, unfortunately, and it also doesn't make anybody happy. There are going to be a lot of people who are already questioning Abdul El-Sayed's sincerity on these issues that will then turn around and say, 'he's moderating his position on Israel!' I don't think he is. I will say this: I am literally the person that is being dangled and I'm going to tell you once again; he's not moderating on his perspective on Israel or anything like that."show more

At the end of the day, what I said was misconstrued. I said, 'If that's what fighting in that country is, then that place, it's a shithole.' I don't understand why we would risk fighting there. I had nothing to say bad about the people. I lost 25k going out there... Unfortunately it's nobody's fault but mine, right? I don't have to retract that statement.
