@AndyBurnhamGM I’d agree, to a point. Burnham has ‘chosen’ a marginal seat to fight, but how much choice did he have exactly? If there were a safer seat available I’m sure he would have taken that. His record on the grooming/rape gangs is appalling however so I hope he loses.

@AndyBurnhamGM So Burnham thinks he can get back into Parliament now —he will have a struggle to get past Starmer /NEC/ Reform…no chance -he’s going all in and very likely to lose it all.

@AndyBurnhamGM Tim he was turned down by over 20 other MPs in safer seats first! This is the best he could get. It's not some heroic and honourable move to stand in a difficult seat. He had no better choices.

@AndyBurnhamGM Agree with you Monty, kudos to Burnham. Tricky to win, trickier to retain in 2028/9. Policies in govt will need to be blue collar (i.e. Reform friendly) traditional Labour which is urgently needed, not what we have had.

Be very careful what you wish for. #Burnham will be as beholden to #Labour's #HardLeft as Starmer is/was. A glance at his previous policy positions shows that he will take Labour further Left whether the country wants it or not. Starmer remains - much as it pains me to say - the least, worst option and it's by no means certain that he will lose any contest - even if Burnham wins a seat.
