This was one of the reasons why a US military parade is a stupid idea. Our military is built for destruction, not presentation.

Unfortunately China, especially CCP China, didn't win WWII and them pretending they did is pretty funny. There can be no mutual victory when China is threatening invasion and making territorial claims as they are doing. The only outcome from that behavior is war. The US may be an ageing Empire but declining Empires are often the most militarily powerful and aggressive. Many rising empires have been crushed because they misjudged when the old empire is too weak to resist them. China is also on a clock because their economy is falling apart so they may think we are weak enough and they are in a now or never situation. Very bad all around. In a global war, no matter who wins everyone loses.

People think “its better to be destructive as a soldier rather than be good at parades”. You are both right and wrong. Right because soldiers are meant for destruction, but Russian/Chinese parades are not about parading, they are about a level of discipline than American mind can’t comprehend. And discipline always wins against talent. While talent and discipline together is unbeatable.

Don’t underestimate the USA just because you don’t see a parade spectacle. This fighting machine is insanely powerful and battle hardened. With AI today, you can create the grandest parade spectacle — but not a real fighting machine.
