People don’t even talk about the derivatives markets. The OTC derivatives markets are another couple of quadrillion dollars. Then you have the FX markets. The FX markets themselves do another $5 trillion a day. But it can live in one multi-layer ecosystem that has interoperability, ZK, and is future proof, and that’s what Ethereum is. The other thing too that got me to become a bit of a Layer 2 maximalist is that from the bank or asset manager perspective, people want to own their own businesses and maximize profits. My take is that L2s are the best business model in blockchain, and it’s not just me saying that. Robinhood said, ‘We can get the security of Ethereum for virtually nothing, keep all of our operating margins to ourselves, and we’re attached to the liquidity of the largest ecosystem out there with the most stablecoins and tokenized assets.
