Hey Daisy, And yet the 30 year guilts now are way beyond what happened with Truss’ budget. The tax burden is the highest since WWII, youth employment has crashed under Labour and welfare payments have exceeded income tax receipts for the first time. On top of this shitshow national debt is about to surpass £3 trillion -all of this is far worse than when Truss was in power. No criticism of your Labour chums or is it more selective outrage from the Lib Dem’s?

You do understand the government borrowing rate is currently 20% higher than it was when Truss was in power, why aren't you banging on about Labour? Oooohhhh I know, you think you can form a coalition with them after the next election.....you couldn't give a shit about this country

Ms Cooper, your leader is responsible for the mess we find ourselves in on energy. We don’t have enough domestic gas to meet our needs because, by his own admission to Channel 4 News in 2019, he was proud to have introduced regulations that stopped the shale industry from taking off. And we have the highest electricity prices in the developed world because of myopic decisions he took in the 2010s. I’d pipe down.

Another economic illiterate to join the hundreds of welfare zealots and nodding dogs. The Bank of England were at fault, they admitted it. The economic impact was zero.

Remember the last time you lot were in power? You were happy to take the ministerial salaries and prop up a government, but now you act like you’ve always been the great opposition. And then there’s the Post Office Horizon scandal. People were wrongly prosecuted, families were destroyed and some victims took their own lives. Your leader was the minister responsible for postal affairs at the time and says he was misled. Convenient, isn’t it? Wink wink. Maybe sort out your own record before opening your mouth about everyone else. The clown show never ends.

Daisy Brain, you have zero credibility and like all lefties know nothing about public finances or economics. The left, Labour have driven borrowing costs and Gilt yields far higher than when Liz Truss was in power. And talking about mortgage rates, they’re next to go through the roof under this left wing disastrous government. You would be even worse as you’re even more dense than Labour.

10 year bond yields are at the highest level for 17 years. 30 year bond yields are at the highest levels for 28 years. Labour's economic crisis gets worse by the day.

With every post you highlight your total misunderstanding of what happened, the causes and are happy to jump on a bandwagon... again! Lazy politics. The Truss budget proposed a significant change (nothing was actually implemented) of tax and spending. It was the right thought process at the wrong time. The major spike in yields to a high (nearly 20% below today's level) was due to a panic attack the B of E due to their failure to properly monitor the LDI market within insurers and pensions. The past is the past. We have to stop these puerile posts and get real!!

Have you? Because the bond markets are far more unfavorable now, but you are giving the government of the day a free pass.

Liz Truss's impact on the economy was a 5 second wonder - what we have now is a slow burning disaster. Incidentally Liz and Kwasi had exactly the right idea to boost the economy - save subsidising energy costs while keeping net zero.

Tax and spend is all you know. 10-year gilt yield is now around 5.26%, which is the highest level since the 2008 financial crisis. Also higher than the peak of 4.95% under Truss. But please don’t let facts interfere with your own propaganda.

Such gaslighting....look at where are the 10 and 30 year bonds are sitting now versus when Liz Truss announced the mini budget. Just look at borrowing and welfare spend versus that same time. Look at energy prices. Labour have been in for 2 years and working people are worse off

The Libdems are just as much liars and devious spin merchants as the Labour Party, the Greens, SNP and PC. She predictably refers to Truss, as she relies on the electorate being stupid. The gilt rates are NOW the 2nd Sept 2026, significantly HIGHER than under Truss. @hertslife @theLDNstandard
