Tip on the subtotal, before taxes. Not the total. Never pay tip on taxes.

The suggested tip on the bill is for the total (subtotal+tax) and she is doing the math on 20% of the subtotal only. I can't believe dude made this whole video acting smart for doing 2nd grade math and couldn't figure that out 🤦🏻‍♂️

Better still, DON’T TIP. It’s the employers job to pay their employees and not yours as the customer. If the employer can’t or won’t pay a real living wage then they MUST go out of business.

They Calculate tips after tax.

Фото профиля Mrobinson

Tips should be based on pre-tax subtotal (cost of the food, drinks, products, services, etc.) before taxes or add’l fees added (not on tax), as it goes to the government rather than staff or business.

Ran into same issue. Restaurant was calculating the tip based off the subtotal + taxes and fees. Then doing their percentage recommendations off that higher amount.

.@UberEats does this 100% of the time. They calculate 20% based on their inflated taxes & fees before they discount their fees. A. You should never tip on taxes B. You should never tip on a fee that was discounted C. You should never tip on a fee

Keep in mind (unless U are physically putting cash secretly into the service person's pocket) U are tipping the house/owner (no longer the employee) & they are using tips to pay wages. It gets split between every staff member.

My tipping is based on the amount before sales tax. 25% and up, less for bad service. If the bad service is not the servers fault, I tip the server in cash.

Always give a 5$ tip they getting paid, it's not like the servers cooking the food

People do understand that every time they eat at a restaurant the server is getting charged by you eating bc of tip out and taxes taken out of the tip that’s why we get mad when we’re not tipped bc we’re paying for yall to eat. ESPECIALLY if there was bar drinks rang in

He sure makes calculating 20% complicated. I never use their precalculated amounts, but I am paying careful attention to those numbers from now on.

Fun tip, you should be tipping on the subtotal not the total, always the pre-tax amount

By the way. If you don’t tip. The employer will have to pay them their actual hourly wage.
