This is a good idea. I'd definitely do this with a pencil that has an eraser on it, but honestly it seems like a good method for a quick check. Some of the responses here tell me that maybe people should be judging others on the content of their character, or their ideas.

A firing pin will break when you spend all that time dry firing into a mirror, while listening to rap.

All these people talking shit this is essentially a visual snap cap. If u suspect the tip of your striker/firing pin broke off/hanging up it takes two seconds to see with this method then you can take it apart and confirm ever heard of diagnosing a problem

I worked in a pawn shop selling guns for 7 years. This is the best way to test cheaper guns like Bryco or Jennings pistols. Also it looks silly but it’s a decent enough way to test the firing pin function on a pistol.
