I got to share the ring with a lot of my dawgs today in the backyard . Didn’t get the dub but hearing this from Jordan, a guy who has looked out for me since we met and a guy that knows what it takes to be great, meant the world to me. On Sunday we had our annual Christmas party for local families. These players know how fortunate they are to be in the position that they are in, and seeing these guys give each of the families something out of their own pocket made me feel good about what we are doing and what we teach. DeMeco Ryans when talking about drafting Kayden McDonald reiterated two things for me: 1) DeMeco had his guys & let Caserio know to find a way to get them 2) Nick knew the board & the Texans jumped the Giants to get McDonald “Let’s find a way to get the guy on our team. We liked Kayden, we visited with him on a 30 visit. Found a way to do that & that starts with Nick & his preparation & knowing the needs of other teams, how the board is gunna fall & him making the moves we need to make to get guys that we really want.”

This week, I made an unannounced visit to the Otay Mesa Detention Center, because the only way to get an honest picture of what’s actually happening inside is to show up without warning. When we asked to speak with detainees, ICE handed us a brand new memo. Until now, detainees could sign up in advance to speak with members of Congress during our visits. That option is now gone. Going forward, we have to name specific individuals at least two days before we arrive and have their signed consent form on file ahead of time. Every time we show up, they find a new way to limit what we can see. Congress has the legal right to conduct these visits unannounced, a Trump-appointed judge just reaffirmed it, and we will keep showing up. The American people deserve to know what is happening in these facilities.
