Having your mech do mundane things to train yourself to perform complex hand movements is really cool. Love shit like this.

if you think about it, this is also a fantastic way to ensure the controls are calibrated and sync'd perfectly to the mech as well.

To be fair I used to know a guy who tested new forklift drivers by having them put a full cup of water on the end of each prong, then have them do turns, practice lifting and lowering the forks and all sorts and monitor how much water was spilt during it.
