When she got to the restaurant, the chef and co-owner, Luke Sung, decided that she didn't have enough followers and that the collaboration was pointless. "He goes on to say that my audience and my followers are not the kind of people that are going to be at his restaurant," said the influencer. "It seemed like he was insinuating that my followers would not be able to afford to eat at this restaurant." Sung then allegedly asked the influencer if she knew who he was. He went on to brag that he was a James Beard nominee and his daughter had 600,000 followers. The restaurant has since announced its last night of service, which was Saturday. Unfortunately for Sung, the pain doesn't stop there. According to the SF Chronicle, 'Domo Sushi,' another restaurant affiliated with Sung, is reportedly also closing down. Yesterday, Daniel came to my restaurant to show his support. His bill came to £25, but he insisted on paying £75. Why? Because he sees the uphill battle I’m fighting against the Establishment, a system that is now trying to shut me down. Most recently, my premises licence has been put up for consultation, and for the foreseeable future, my restaurant is no longer able to sell alcohol. This isn’t just about a restaurant. It’s about standing up for independent businesses, free expression, and people who refuse to be silenced. To everyone who continues to support us during this difficult time: thank you.
