It’s not controlling. It is a power with the ability to talk to them. And also, that Shark was trying to protecto Arthur.

There is something deeply unsettling about seeing a primal, ancient power trapped in a 20th-century living room. This scene in The Last Cumberland isn't just about 'sea creatures'-it's a visceral metaphor for the parts of ourselves we've suppressed to fit into civilization. When he sees the water, he isn't seeing a `monster'; he's seeing his reflection. Are we ever truly at home in the world we built?

The body horror in this sequence is top-tier because it's so quiet. No jump scares, just the heavy, wet realization that she doesn't belong in that house. The way the environment feels claustrophobic the moment she recognizes the 'sea creatures' is fascinating. It turns a place of safety into a cage. Truly one of the most haunting visual metaphors for dysphoria and longing I've seen recently.
