Note: In the 2016 Roots miniseries, Kunta Kinte (called Toby) spots a chisel, hides it under a wagon during a distraction, and with help from a sympathetic steward files off his chains. He escapes on horseback at dawn during Christmas celebrations but is soon tracked by dogs and recaptured. This intense scene highlights his fierce resistance to enslavement in the historical drama. #Drama 𝕏 #HistoricalFiction

God Speed D'Angelo. He found a way to escape the polished 90's R&B sound, and create his own path to showcase how brilliant he really was. His duet with Eric Clapton on a I've Been Trying is simply magical.

Everyone watches the violin student fall for his abused teacher and thinks he’s saving her. He may not be her savior he may be her escape route and when escape feels like love, the most dangerous illusion isn’t desire. It’s thinking you’ve found your soulmate when you’ve really found a way out.
