Japanese Tsugite Joinery creates perfect wood connections without a single nail or screw

no gap between each post for the wood to expand. He mastered nothhing.

Dad made a working Apple car from wood for his kids

Other side of the fence.

So many talented people in this world that have mastered the work they do. 🔨🪵The eye & hand co-ordination here. 😮💨👏🏼 Video credit 🎥: veyso330

Don’t butt-up your dog ears dude, they’ll warp

He’s fired and probably sued by the client. They are all going to blow out from being nailed tightly together and the fasteners are going to leave rust trails down the face of the boards. Definitely not a Master of the trade.

Carpenter creates an idea that no one has ever thought of.

He previously worked at the Pentagon in the Department of (De)FENCE.

You should leave a gap between slats to allow for natural expansion and contraction due to moisture and temperature changes. It's crucial for the fence's longevity and stability

No spacing in between? Yeah, real “mastery”.

Yeah all great except you should screw these boards not nail them

Galvanized or stainless screws please, and space the boards out just a bit. Maybe he is using galvanized or stainless nails ? If not those puppies are going to rust and leave tracks on the wood.

This isn’t how you install a fence

Good example of doing things quickly doesn’t mean you’re a master at it. A lot of cumulative time will be spent correcting his crap.

It’s great he built that the thing to level the boards, but the fence isn’t to grade, things can crawl under it, and he isn’t checking to see if the boards are level. Since wood isn’t perfect the top or bottom will get ahead, but he isn’t checking that.

So using a jig is now master work?

Shouldn’t there be gaps to allow wind to pass through?

I've learned that people who haven't mastered the trade themselves are unable to tell if someone has mastered that trade

You have to space the planks to allow for swelling or it’s gonna look like crap.

It should be one nail in the top & middle & check it's straight every 4 or 5 slats, then double nail after you finish. No gaps between them also puts it at higher risk of damage from wind.

Not exactly, you need a gap between the Pailings for expansion….

Ya gotta space them for heat and cold. Those boards are going to expand and contract as the seasons change. This fence is going to look like trash in a year.

Putting up a fence isn’t a trade

Without gaps, when the wood expands as it gets wet and cold, it will warp or buckle. He is also using nails instead of screws... which means that when the wood does buckle, the boards will barely be handing on.. this person has mastered nothing other than how to grab the money of fools.

He didn't leave vertical gaps between the boards to allow for expansion and his haphazard nailing isn't impressive, it's lazy. Two nails should go into each support angled away from each other so they can't pull straight out as the nail holes slowly expand over the years.

Those nails will pull out in 6 months.

I don't even do fence work and my brain is saying this will be a real problem real soon.

Mastered his trade??? Master of disaster!!! You have to have a gap between each board. Not have them butting up to each other.

@JohnRobert626 This is NOT how it’s done, not a master craftsman @Mtaylorcrew

The exquisite art of the jig.

That should last til the end of the week anyway

Necessity is the mother of all invention

Just came to the comments to see all the fudds complaining.
