To balance the budget on tariffs, the generalized rate would need to be 169.8%. To cover the tax revenue (end taxes), the tariff rate would need to be 120.8%. Even eliminating federal income taxation would not be sufficient to cover the price increases that would result from such high tariffs, presuming most of the tariff cost would push through via price changes.
