I did this in college, but I did it in 20 minute blocks. I think the key thing to take away here is, people always seem to remember the last thing they did more often than not. So if that last thing keeps coming up it will stick.

The speaker is Dr. Anthony Sutton, MD, founder of MDI Prep, a medical education company. He graduated from UT Houston Medical School and focuses on motivational speaking and study strategies for pre-med/medical students instead of clinical practice. The clip is from one of his lectures on learning retention. A similar full version is on YouTube: For this exact topic, check TikTok:

This works on the professional world as well. Especially if you’re multi disciplinary.

I used this method and it helped so much but now with this twist I’ll be an academic weapon!

Great method! Both of my sons graduated in the top 10% of HS, took and passed AP exams, got to university and almost flunked out because of lack of study skills. In HS, it’s study for one chapter or concept, in college it’s study for 1/4 of a textbook. Big difference!

This isn't going to work for someone with ADHD like me who either has hyper focus for 15 hours straight or in 30 second bursts.

That’s great . When that study block is over and you take a break when you haven’t completed studying a sub portion, how do you take a break without mentally getting drained? I spend the break worrying about not completing that portion. Isn’t the break for reset?
