Well OpenAI published their work on Codex in 2021 already. In 2023 this perspective wasn't really new or controversial for people in the field. Things like AutoGPT were all the hype in early 2023 and no end in sight with scaling laws.

Back in 2021-2022 the hype around GPT-3 started exactly because it was very good at generating usable code, if you look up posts on X around the time when ChatGPT came out most discussions were people saying how quickly they became reliant on it. They were early adopters
he got everything right, except that *agents*, not humans, will be the ones buying human-made code on Etsy
