Reed, who identifies as a sovereign citizen, told the officer he did not need a driver’s license because his private vehicle was “held in trust” and registered through alternate means. He refused repeated orders to exit the vehicle and was eventually removed and arrested. Reed referred to himself as both “Reverend Reed” and “His Excellency.” He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on charges including driving without a valid license, expired registration, and affixing a plate to conceal identity.
