There was a time when doctors made house calls and the doctor-patient relationship was personal—and no government healthcare. Today, government healthcare, regulation, insurance bureaucracy, and litigation have made healthcare more expensive and lower quality.

It was Affordable when the plan mandated all Americans buy health insurance. Sick or not. Once that piece was removed the cost slowing increased. Then they removed other pieces.
