sorry dude your wrong - "alternating traffic" mean one way goes (all cars) then the other. "alternating cars" would be one car this way, one car that way. For 25 years I've driven through that bridge and it has always been all form one way then all from the other

The white truck driver is a jerk, but he is correct. Except where controlled by a stop sign or a flagger, typically all the cars on one side should go through, then all the cars on the other side go. It's much less efficient overall to have each car stop and go one at a time.
