Yesterday I Visited Cardiff’s Dogs trust rescue centre to see a 5 month old GSD called Hedgehog who had been there for a month not having had a very good start in life. It’s really hard to walk away and leave the little chap so I brought him back to join our puppy program.

We just rescued a dog from the airport area… who was struck by a fast-moving vehicle, maybe a bike or a car. There are no external injuries, but the pain he is going through is unbearable to watch. He cannot stand, he cannot walk, he is not eating… he is just lying there, crying in pain, trying to understand what happened to him. We immediately took him to the vet. Painkillers have been given, his blood work is done, and now we have entered the most difficult phase — the vet has advised us to wait and watch. The next 24 hours are absolutely critical for him. Please keep this sweet soul in your kind prayers. Animals cannot speak, they cannot ask for help… they only suffer silently. Let this be a reminder for all of us please drive carefully. This afternoon we left the puppy at home with uncle Jason and we went out with Detective Dug 🇨🇦. There were some dogs not on leashes (apparently the big signs pointing to the off leash area 0.8km away was too hard for their humans to understand) so I stood still on the path and had them focus on me so Dug could take his human and hide out of sight. He can get scared by strange dogs. The one dog's human kept calling him and it took forever for him to go. Maybe the human was as bad at speaking dog as they were at reading signs in human language? Then Dug and I played scent games. I've never done that away from home. It's way harder to choose which cone has the scent under it when there's strange humans and animals around. We're gonna have to really practice that! We also got to see geese and a rabbit! We stopped at the mailbox and I carried the mail home!!! It was the bestest day! Maybe almost as good as tomorrow is going to be!!!

This is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world! You see that guy holding the long yellow pole? He is there to pull the other one away just in case he gets caught in the current. There is so much voltage that the specialized suit alone does not offer enough protection. If things go wrong, he will become frozen in place as his internal organs fry. Even a few seconds can cause serious, potentially fatal injuries.

Urgent resuce 💔 Got a very stressed and heartbreaking call today. Someone shifted their home and left behind a Labrador tied near a drain. Since morning, this innocent soul has been standing there helplessly in the scorching heat, waiting and hoping for his family to come back for him. Some kind people spotted him and informed us. We are now going to rescue this sweet dog. He looks like a one-year-old Labrador puppy, extremely docile, innocent, and completely unaware of why he was abandoned by the people he trusted the most. We truly fail to understand how people can do this to an animal who only knows how to love unconditionally. This is truly disheartening and painful to witness. It’s never easy as this owner knows and we all know. “We took Angel to the lake this evening for one last adventure. I tried to stop her from getting in the water since it was cold out, but she insisted. I think she knows.” It is our last and final responsibility to our pets to let them go gracefully. If our pets quality of life is less than, we need to make hard decisions. If medications can bring up their quality then use them but every pet owner knows "the look". It’s better to be a day too early than an hour too late. 💔 You will see your sweet Angel again one day. ❤️
