he thought it was a prank 💀

This whole post is a prank. This is click bait. This whole story is made up to trick men into engagement with it.

Of course men like to be approached, it makes things much easier. However, there are a lot of women pranking guys with insincere approaches recorded for use on social media. If an attractive woman approached me out of nowhere I'd assume prank.

Never in my 43 years of life has a woman approached me or said anything nice ever. I have however been rejected and called a weirdo or freak more times than I can remember for just introducing myself or holding a door for them or asking a group of women a question.

My wife stood on the curb, looked in the eye and told me I was going to marry her. It lasted 38 years until she passed.

Have had two women approach me when i was in my 30’s (am 47 now) and it was actually quite nice to have it happen. I said yes both times. One of them I wasn’t attracted to but still said yes and we went out on a nice date. Would be nice if more women would approach.

Yes, but today women play so many little games and put guys on the back burner waiting for something "better". Not all women of course but a lot of men I think are just done and like solitude and no emotional baggage.

Yes, all the time but it was over 20 years ago. Pre smart phone.

I would definitely think I was being pranked. I'm also a little passed the age where women notice me anymore. That's been a hard thing for my ego to process. 😀

"where's the camera?"

Nature in her cruel wisdom as determined that men should be the one to initiate the conversation. If a woman wants to attract a man she has to drop a handkerchief or something to get him to start talking. The reason for this is an economic one. What men can acquire cheaply they esteem lightly. If the man is not willing to pay the price of risking rejection, the woman is cheaper for him because the risk is less, requiring less courage to win her heart. Indeed, he may not need to win her at all, if she has already made the approach. Men find mates by pursuit. Women find mates by a allure.

Yes, I've been approached first. Got no problem with it. I'm initially suspicious about motives but I keep that to myself, instead of gawking like a moron. Biggest suspicion: she's habitually free with her favors. That's a problem for a lot of reasons.

Yes, it happened once. It was one of the longest relationships I've ever had. Happiest too. It only ended because of distance. I moved for a job and she couldn't. We decided long distance was a bad idea. I regret that.

We watch social media. That’s what “you” (women) have conditioned men to think. Last time I was approached in person … 2003. No joke.

There is no way I would initiate conversation in the world today with a woman. They’ve spent 2 decades demeaning us men to a point we get charged with meaningless crimes when we do. Besides, the whole me too movement and feminism has allowed men to realize there are many other aspects of life that do not involve risking our freedom and/or sanity for.

Hard pass. I don't need any opportunity to be the main topic of the next viral video.

i have never been approached directly, but few times through a shared acquaintance. women were always the ones that were doing the choosing - dropping a handkerchief. why has this trivial system been replaced by the "approach a woman and pray for the best" is beyond me.

Even if you open with, “This isn’t a prank. No one is recording.” The guy will still be dubious and look around for someone recording.

Yes. At my age all the posturing is gone. You see something you like, you approach.

Who wants a woman that walks up to strange men to tell them they are attractive? How many men did you ask before you found the right one? Is this a weekly hobby?🤣

If someone said that to me. I’d think it was a trap 100%. Or think you have a disease, handicap, retardation, etc. SUSPICIOUS 🤨

No. And absolutely.

Yes I've had several women approached me in the past. But if a woman does it today I'll start thinking there's something going on it's a trap

In teenage years it happens all the time but in adult life? No. Almost never, with some very rare exceptions And 1, for me, was similar to what you're describing Years ago, I sat down at a piano in an airport and a woman just happened to be impressed by that I guess, we flirted, got some drinks and exchanged numbers before boarding differing flights... very cute though, her name was Raven, I can't believe I still remember that (this is like ~2012) But I specifically remember feeling like someone was messing with me, like she was leading me on It was uncanny but also flattering in a way, once I knew she was sincere Yes, guys will be okay with that. Even if a guy isn't interested, he's still going to be cool about it A big part of why guys stopped approaching women is the potential for terrible behavior It may not be a simple 'no thanks' but a guy could wind up getting mocked by half of TikTok, for any number of reasons or just no real reason at all It's never happened to me (that I know of) but there are horror stories of conceited women doing some pretty terrible things to guys, just for trying to flirt I especially feel bad for guys in their early 20s now The world was not always this way. It used to be unusual to meet someone from online but even when we did, it was nothing like Tinder or Bumble But anyway, sorry for the rambling, The answer is yes, nearly any man will be open to that but also, will likely be skeptical of the sincerity. But that's kind of a compliment in and of itself 🤷♂️ Being approached by an attractive woman is one of those 'unicorn events' in life. It'll throw a guy off a bit but in a good way Personally, I think approaching women without at least being acquaintances, is probably pretty much over with now. The market demand is there but the risk profile is just too volatile on the male-end of things... outside of a bar maybe. Do people still go to bars, btw? I remember those 😅

But he’s still right cause here you are on social media talking about it and him

Never in my life has a woman come up to me and said this. It's not something we expect. We are taught to do the approaching, but we understand that so many modern women will flat out reject you if there isn't some obvious flex we have that is visible. Looks, money, status, bad boy vibes. It is an almost immediate rejection, even if only one of those is present.

Women have only approached when I make a physical effort. When they approached me they just objectified themselves expecting me to take over? Instead of just talking to me like a regular human being.

It’s because men and women have belittled men so much, not just in general, but in this area too. Even mates have their comments in this area, which they say it banter and a lot of it will stick, if everyone says it. Especially when they don’t get approached often.

Yes I've been approached by never by a woman as hot as you. That's why buddy wasn't believing it. And I'm an above average male with healthy self confidence. It NEVER happens from a women we'd actually want. You are gorgeous. That's unheard of

If she approached me, I'd start looking around for cameras. Because it would 100% be a prank

Yes. A few times prior to marriage. And maybe a half dozen times after I was married and wearing a ring! These were always nurses or patients. I graciously turned down every one after marriage. My wife is wonderful! I will always be 100% faithful to her.

No, but frequently when I speak first she replies: I HAVE A BOYFRIEND!

Most of the women I dated approached me first. They just let me know they were interested. I pursued after that. If a woman pursues and pursues you, the chances of her being crazy goes way up.

My senior year in high school my girlfriend lived in another city and I wouldn't be able to take her to the prom, so I just planned on not going. Then a girl I knew asked if I would go with her. She was really nice, pretty, and we were often seated beside each other if the teach er did alphabetical seating. I was shocked, very flattered, and I knew it took guts for her to ask. I told her I had a girlfriend, but we could go just as friends if that was OK. It was a fun night. Then there was the girl in grade 6 who decided I was her future husband. That was a bit weird.

Honest answer: first off, not since high school. Today, if a woman were to approach me, I would assume it was either a prank video of some kind, working some kind of scam or possibly a prostitute looking for a client. Just a woman looking for a connection? Never happening.
