One of my FB friends just passed away. He had cared for a squirrel since it was an orphan. He encouraged the squirrel to go back into nature when it was old enough. The squirrel always came back to see him. I'm sure he wonders where his human is. 😢

I am confident scritches are how we tamed all the wild beasts.

They can make great pets. Each 1 has a personality just like other animals. Mine was raised by hand after the nest blew down in a really bad storm. Bonded with me. Syringe fed. Taught it to jump off a ledge. Jumped over my hands and landed on my face!😱 Scratched and bloody. They WILL climb you like a tree. Shorts are a NO NO! You learn quick. They love sitting on your head and shoulder. Need indoor climbing jumping stuff. Giant wicker stuff on the walls helps.

We rescued, and raised one when I was a kid. They can be awesome. They can also love females, and hate males oddly enough. For real, neither my father nor I could even come close to the thing, while it absolutely loved my mother and sister.
