His pain is deep… but we are doing everything we can to help him heal. Today was our largest adoption event in twelve years. We have been planning it for six months. This morning we had thirty-two dogs. By 5pm we had one. Thirty-one dogs found homes today. It was extraordinary. It was everything we worked for. We were crying happy tears all afternoon. At 6pm I did my final walkthrough. I turned into the main corridor and I stopped. Every kennel door was open. Every kennel was empty. Except kennel 6. Walter was at his door. Face at the chain-link. Tail going. Looking out at the corridor of empty open kennels the same way he had been looking out at families all day — with his ears forward and his amber eyes warm and his tail giving the same wag he gives to everything. He does not know every other dog went home today. He knows the wag. He keeps giving the wag. I walked down that corridor to him. Thirty-one open empty kennels on either side of me. And Walter at the end of it, still wagging, still here, still completely and constitutionally Walter. He is approximately three years old. He is large. He is warm. He has never in his shelter life given anything less than his full wag to whoever was outside his kennel. Today he gave it to thirty-one families who chose other dogs. Tonight he gave it to an empty corridor. Tomorrow he will give it to whoever comes. He deserves to give it to someone who stays. Drop a ❤️ for Walter. When we went to the public shelter to take this old boy, they warned us: “He’s aggressive.” We took him anyway. He wasn’t aggressive at all. He was terrified of humans. As time passed, the tumour on his side grew larger and larger, until we knew there was no choice—we had to get him surgery somehow. We were scared. He was scared. But thanks to the incredible people who donated about a month ago, Moshu got his chance. Today, his bloodwork is clear. The tumour is gone. And for the first time… he allows Melisa to come close. He may still look afraid, and he may never fully trust people—but he loves being with the other dogs. That’s where he feels safe. That’s where he belongs. This is a story that differs from other tales of adopting an older dog, in this case, Max, who had been forgotten in a shelter due to his age. Then, as sometimes happens when everyone, Max included, had resigned themselves to the situation, he was adopted. The family that generously took him in discovered, over time, that what Max needed wasn't so much a "second chance" as it was peace and tranquility. After a troubled life, much like what we ourselves experience, he needed, above all, to rediscover himself; to do so, he required a place and the time to live serenely. He didn't primarily need a second chance, or perhaps the one offered by this family *was* exactly that: after a difficult life, the dog was traumatized, even if he didn't show it. His priority was finding an ordinary, peaceful life, and for Max, that was the act of love he truly needed. In time, having rediscovered his true self, he began to play and express affection toward the patient family that had given him, above all else, a safe haven and the peace he had never known.

sometimes i think abt how hardworking and disciplined minho has been for all his life .. he volunteered at elderly homes, he took on multiple jobs while also studying to afford dance classes, he lived alone at a young age, he donated to sponsor children, he gave what he could to others even when he didn’t have much himself.. he took in stray kitties without hesitation and without even asking his mom first, just cus of how kind his heart is… </3 and even while he was working towards his dream he put others before himself along the way.. he never head it easy, he was never given anything for free… he always had to work hard for it and he never complained he got eliminated on the survival show for the sole reason of using his pain for engagement. he walked home in the rain cus he felt like he didn’t deserve a taxi. they broke him and disrespected him and he still showed up the next day to keep going and give everything he has. his dedication and commitment is insane ;; it honestly makes me so emotional… i feel sad thinking abt everything he went thru but at the same time i know this was always his dream. i don’t care abt streams or charts at all but seeing where the group is now just gives me so much relief. it means all his effort and hard work wasn’t for nothing :( i’m just rly proud for him… i’m so glad he got to achieve what he worked so hard for. today he’s able to buy the prettiest toys and treats for his kitties, able to spoil his family, able to casually buy a gucci bag for his dads bday… his face is on the biggest screens, everyone knows him. he must feel so accomplished </3 u came so far. i’m so so so proud of u minho. u deserve everything u have and so much more

On June 1st, Romeo was arriving at work when he was wrongfully taken by ICE. They did not ask his name, did not provide any documentation, and would not give information as to why he was being arrested. According to one of the ICE workers, after the fact, he was not who they were looking for, and despite his having no criminal history, he is still being detained somewhere. The GoFundMe is to help his family be able to afford a lawyer so that he can get the legal help that he deserves and needs. 👉
