He was so good

Man he was my favorite player for a minute when I was a kid. Pastor Kaufman was a beast. I was surprised they kind of moved away from him and only used him as a role player kinda towards the end. Not sure if it was injuries or what

I think that was more injuries if I remember correctly

May be. I just remember they added more backs and did a committee approach and felt like he didnt get the carries he deserved. He was obviously still getting lots of reps but just not as much as he deserved I dont think.

I thought I was hot stuff, I was the best football player I knew. Always picked first in any football game we would play because my team always won. ipeople asked me what I wanted to do I said I’ll go to Cal and then the NFL. 6ft1in, 220 ran a 4.6 40yd in sweats. (Which was fast for a defensive end in the late 90’s) So I ended up playing football at a park with NK after he retired from the Raiders. It was for fun but it got a little competitive on my end. I wanted to get his flag. So I saw him leak into the flat when I was on the other side of the line but I was gonna get him. So I left my spot and just shadowed him. I was lined up perfectly. He got the pass and saw me in front of him (anyone else I played I would run this down no problem) He looked beyond me which annoyed me so I sprinted at him, he looked down surprised at my attempt… he did a little chuckle and just took off down the sideline. I was running my fastest to hit that angle and he just was at another level. He got around me and upfield before I got to where I initially wanted to go. Right there I thought, oh man, I don’t think I can make it to the NFL. And you know what… I was right .

Hell of a story bro thanks for sharing

Don't look up Monday Night Football videos of his namesake, Napoleon McCallum....

I watched that game live and cried

Lompoc

His white jersey was the very first raiders jersey I ever bought

I collected his cards for a while, even though I am not a raiders fan. Dude was special for a few seasons

Had one 1000 yard season, in 1997.....

Go @Raiders

Lompoc California

@napoleonkaufman just a reminder you were special for us

Napoleon Kaufman was a DAWG

Still have his Jersey #Raiders #RaiderNation

💯💯

Still have his jersey. The Black Hole rocked.

I never remembered him being this good !!! Damn!!!!

He was a problem man

Couldn’t stay healthy

Only 175 lbs, ran like 210

What speed he had and cut back agility

I remember as a freshman he took a kickoff back for a touchdown and I was like he is as good as they said. He was so quick. His feet were elite. I love that he went on to be a pastor. Great dude.

That injury.

Wrong Napoleon

Super nice… just heard Andre Ward sayin that’s his OG and pastor now…

Fast af

Out there moving
