Head Angle X rigging in less than 1 minute #Live2D #VTuber

This video is amazing at showing how the process works for setting up the movement. HOWEVER as I don't have experience with this software, this type of work, or rigging in general, the absolute level of deep the face has at the start had me cackling.

The eyelashes make me so happy, I love long light colored eyelashes soooo much, especially on men (*σ>∀<)σ

I've wondered this, what's the benefit of live2d over 3d modelling in this case?

Such models imitate an anime and/or 2D animation style, so that’s one of the reasons too. Also they’re less heavy and could run on budget pc. In general everyone has their own reasons

Oh true, I would assume 3d would use more computing power, and running on low specs does increase the accessibility of it too. Trying to get that 2d feel on blender is also fiddly as hell!

rigging a face with that much personality in under a minute is actually insane, the teeth alone would take me a whole afternoon

ive always wondered what rigging a vtuber model would be like/entailed. so its mainly 2d sculpting? might take a crack at it one day

This is painfully slow. I literally cannot believe this could not be done faster (or with less effort) using AI. Especially with an agentic workflow. Take as many comms as you can WHILE you can!
