Coach Spo on Kel'el Ware and also takes accountability and says he needs to be better coaching this team: "Since one of you will ask about Kel'el, he gave us really solid minutes tonight, I was encouraged by his defensive activity. Hes part of that young gun crew as well..... Its good to have him get some extended minutes... We all just want to do better and that includes the head coach. I have to do a better job with this group. We have the potential we can see, its a matter of consistency and thats what im here for. Also to hold the young guys accountable, and we have more of them than in recent history, but also develop them and infuse confidence in them. Thats a fine balance but thats what im here for. I want to take that challenge and be better with that these final 30 games"

So, going into Game 1, I kind of knew what it was going to be. And then yesterday, he sat me down again, and he kind of apologized, but it was more like, 'Hey, just be ready. Your number's gonna be called more, and we're gonna try to do something different.' Again, Mark's a great coach, I trust him, and if you want to play in a team sport - if you want to play on a team like this, you really have to put your ego aside and do what's best for the team." There is still a long way to go but we have made positive progress towards our goals: ▪︎ They don't settle for anything less than total domination! ▪︎ They use unbearable speed in attack, a clear Nabi attacking blueprint🔥🔥 ▪︎ Once we find spaces to attack, our movement and passes are very quick. ▪︎ The decision-making on the ball is getting better, and our structure is getting better every game. ▪︎ They create a lot of chances every game! ▪︎ They fight as a team! We are very flexible tactically. There is positive energy around the team. The players are regaining their confidence! Tom Brady on the value of Truth Tellers in your life: Athletes today have a lot of people around them who tell them what they WANT to hear, not necessarily what they NEED to hear. But in reality, you can't get better unless you're getting valuable, honest feedback. The job of a head coach or leader is to be the person who tells someone without regard for emotional sensitivity, where do they need to get better. "He has to be the one that says I don't care about what X says or the blogs say, I care about the team." Whatever field you're competing it, it's going to be HARD. You can't alway be surrounded by optimists and feel like everything's going to be okay and you did great. You have to prepare at a GREAT level, and in order to do that, the need for a truth teller, and someone who is going to hold you accountable regardless on how you're feeling that day, is paramount. via New Heights

When asked about what new FSC Baseball Head Coach Rick O'Dette envisions for success for the program, here's what he had to say: "It's a matter of of getting these guys to understand that team baseball is going to help us win. And the only way we can do that is if you can care more about that guy sitting next to you rather than you. And of course it's an individualized sport within the team, meaning like you're going to have to take care of your business to make sure everybody can get to the level they want to be at. I had to put this all in one video to make it even clearer — The NBA has an OKC Thunder problem. The fans know it, broadcasters know it. THEY know they’re favored. When EVERYONE complains about ONE team, it’s serious. It’s not just SGA, he’s just the head of the snake. I’m not a “blame the refs” type, never have been. I actually hate when players focus too much on that. But this just makes for an unbearable product. The Thunder are EXTREMELY good. They don’t need extra help. They don’t need to be rewarded for their antics. A lot of it is an affront to the game. The physicality they play with needs to be allowed both ways or not at all. This is all from one game, but it’s every night against them. It looks and feels blatant. This isn’t basketball. The NBA needs to fix this.

Dillon Brooks give him credit. Any team he goes to there's a certain mentality that team gonna play with. You saw it all year. I don't think they're in the play in if those guys don't miss as many games as they missed. Jalen's changed that team since coming back. Give those guys a lot of credit man regardless of what happens in the 1st round of this playoffs for them I think it's a very successful season"

Defending NBA Champion🏆 NEW YORK KNICKS Head Coach Mike Brown with a MASTERCLASS in progressive culture building and the importance of being a self aware leader: 🏯 The strongest cultures don't protect the leader from feedback. If people are afraid to challenge the leader, they'll let them make avoidable mistakes. Great leaders build rooms where disagreement isn't disrespect, it's a the expectation. The measure of a strong culture is how safe the subordinates feel telling their bosses the truth. Don't be afraid to be wrong. Be afraid of building an environment where nobody tells you when you are. 🐓 or🥚 The best way to GET ownership is to GIVE ownership away. Standards become sustainable when players hold each other accountable instead of relying on the coach to police every behavior. The goal isn't dependence on leadership. It's developing leaders who can sustain the standard without you. It starts with a mindset that is 100% in service of the players. Like the chicken or egg analogy, when they know you're committed to helping them succeed, they become committed to helping the team succeed. Leaders model what matters. The level of care you show people becomes the level of care they show the standard. 🤝 Collaboration produces commitment. Coach Brown had only 5 standards: Compete, Sacrifice, Connect, Trust, and hold everyone in the organization (including the head coach) Accountable. Ownership creates buy-in to those standards. That buy-in creates care. Care creates culture. And culture is what erases a talent or financial gap between the lines. The moment the standard BELONGS to everyone, it no longer DEPENDS on anyone. 💯

I wrote an article earlier this week, lamenting about Keith Pelley openly stating his preference to 'retool' before conducting the search for the next General Manager. "I’ll never understand why he tipped his hand back in March, immediately after firing Brad Treliving. According to Pelley, the team interviewed 27 candidates for the head of hockey operations. What an incredible, unrepeatable opportunity to survey 27 of the sharpest executives in the NHL on what the Leafs truly need to win, free of preconceived notions. With the franchise at a genuine crossroads, wouldn’t you want unfiltered feedback? What if 24 of those 27 candidates believed a full rebuild was necessary? By telegraphing the preferred direction upfront, the organization contaminated the process. Some candidates inevitably molded their pitches to fit what Keith Pelley wanted to hear. Valuable, honest information was lost." For all the same reasons, it was refreshing to hear John Chayka take the opposite approach when responding to questions about what he’s looking for in the next head coach this afternoon. This is the way.

Bill Maher calls out hypocritical liberals for not wanting to hold politicians accountable during the LA wildfires: Bill Maher: "I'm with the people who want to hold politicians accountable. 'We shouldn't talk about it now.' It's so funny to hear that coming out of the mouths of liberals, because they hate it when conservatives say that after a gun tragedy, which is what conservatives always say after a mass shooting. This is not the time to politicize it. And then it never is. It is absolutely the time to talk about it. If you held Bush accountable for Katrina: Well, then you have to have some intellectual honesty in criticizing your team when they don't do it right. I think we we should demand better." Democrats would rather stick their heads in the sand, because that's the best 'fire safety' California can currently provide.

"He threw the game" --Coach K After Lebron's "Avengers" got punked by a team of African refugees from a nation that's 0-0 in Olympic history, Lebron Stans (I call em "Deflecticons") started deflecting to Jordan's Dream Team (of course) to talk about the time the 1992 Dream Team lost a scrimmage to college kids. The truth is that Team USA coach, Chuck Dailey, purposefully threw the game, sabotaging the lineups and keeping The Goat on the bench to use it as a tool to humble his team of superstars. The next day, The Dream Team re-scrimmaged the college kids, the greatest player ever played a lot more, and The Dream Team "pretty much beat em by a hundred" because the college kids couldn't get the ball past half court. Leave it to bronsexuals to try and compare a thrown game in a closed scrimmage against elite college players to needing an Anthony Edwards no call to avoid losing to a group of little-known players from the poorest country on Earth (no indoor practice facilities in the entire country, and had to practice on soiled and delapidated courts) in what would've been the biggest and most embarrassing loss in both American and international basketball history in front of 20,000 people. As it stands, that game was still one of the most embarrassing near-choke jobs ever witnessed in competitive sports. The next time an insecure Deflecticon cap artist brings up that thrown scrimmage, slap em upside the head with this video. The Avengers are just another underachieving Lebron-recruited superteam and should never be brought up in the same sentence as The Dream Team again. Salute. Edit
