WR: We’re trying to build to LA2028. This is such a stupid response because the new format is going to decrease visibility for the host nation’s men’s team! Not saying @USARugby should get special treatment; they shouldn’t. But it just shows the intellectual dishonesty behind their reasons. The reasons are almost certainly financial, but admitting that would mean shining a light on their own mismanagement, so they choose to deflect.

Did he think rugby teams were not entertaining in the 2024 Olympics for him to do all this with Olympics as the only target, or what is the end goal other than Olympics? Shouldn't his current goal be to attract more fans in the annual tournaments to build up to the olympics?
