One month after the ceasefire in #Gaza, WHO is on the ground rebuilding health systems and ensuring patients receive life-saving care through medical evacuations. I thank the 30 countries that have opened their doors to receive patients for care and call on others to join - more than 16,500 patients, including almost 4000 children, are awaiting evacuation to receive urgent care outside of Gaza. We also call for the opening of all evacuation routes, particularly to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Health and healing cannot wait.

Our North Gaza Campaign has been delivering very large amounts of water everyday since people started returning to the North from the South on January 27th 2025. Since then, we have delivered 1.5 million liters of water! Our daily expenditure has, therefore, significantly increased because we are still continuing with other initiatives in the North like our community kitchens, ovens, medical days, and food package distributions. Yesterday alone we delivered 69000 liters of water ( and baked and distributed 2300 loaves of bread. Unfortunately, what we receive in donations is lower than what we spend on a daily basis. Patients travelled to: - Spain: 13 child and one adult patients - Türkiye: 2 adult patients - France: 4 child and one adult patients - Norway: 6 child and 2 adult patients - Jordan: 18 child patients We are grateful to all the governments and health workers for their support and specialised care for the critical patients from Gaza. Gaza needs medication and medical supplies to enter. Stock is nearly depleted in hospitals and private pharmacies are expensive. Even before the complete blockade of aid in March, 75% of UN missions have been denied entry into Gaza, according to the World Health Organization. There is just not enough support for the sick and injured. This is why our Medical Days are so important. The South medical team conducted a general health medical campaign at Al-Qassem camp in Nuseirat. We treated 300 cases of rashes, cuts, sprains, muscle pain, wound care, bug bites, chest infections, allergies, and flu symptoms. The medical day cost 4,750 shekels or $1,565.
