Learned a lot through BDP first 4 albums. KRS is the blueprint for imparting knowledge and wisdom on multiple topics through music. Be it social, historical or theological, you can always learn something new

Facts

I love this bc it’s true, I learned so much from Hip Hop bc of artist like KRS, Rakim, PE, Scarface, Cube etc. I could go on but you get it. This message needs to go viral

Real talk

I posted a post of KRS in Chicago talking bout the industry and how they don’t play lyrical content on the radio. I feel we need more artist like you and other lyricist to start touching on the subject of lyricism and how we gotta keep it alive in Hip Hop.

I agree 100%. We grew up in the Golden Age of Hip Hop. So even if school or parents didn’t have all the answers we had these jewels in the music that sparked our curiosity. I’m praying mainstream Hip Hop takes a positive turn and start showcasing lyricists again 🙏

I support this message 🏴🏳️🏴 #COB

We still build 📚

You're the only reason I know what a Kemetic cross is. Warren G helped me know what the word 'percolate' means. Em helped me know what disestablishmentarianism is. GZA made me want to learn about molecular structure. Lyricism should truly never die.

Church!!

I was just talking to my lil girl last night about us not having Google & that we had to get out our encyclopedias to find out. I do agree with you that lyricism needs to STAY in hiphop! These kids need that along w/ the storytelling! AMEN to that!! 🏴🏳️🏴

100%. I learned history, people, ideas, events, vocabulary. Hip hop 100% inspired and uplifted me, gave me strength to fight through it and sometimes was consoling to hear my thoughts and experiences rapped incredibly.

I agree 💯

Crook, you're gooooodddd.

Big Facts!!!

Crook thank you! Lyricism is the hook (no pun intended) that keeps me tied to hip hop. Chuck D & PE were my intro to hip hop back in the day. Chuck literally did this to my brain: 🤯 - teaching me things I knew NOTHING about before.

#ProtectLyricism

while giving props to me teachers, I never leave my favourite rappers out

That era in hip hop is over

I support every word you say. But who has the the talent, the lyrical intellect of @IAmKRSOne, of @MrChuckD, of @RZA, @TheRealGZA, of @EricBandRakim, of @GhostfaceKillah, @Nas etc… to make these youngins actually THINK????

FACTS✌️ This is why I think one of the GREATEST album titles of all-time is: 'EDUTAINMENT' by BDP! KRS-One knows that hip (knowledge) & hop (motion) at its highest form is: EDUCATION AND ENTERTAINMENT at the same time! Keep spreading the truth & value of genius lyricism, Crook!

So what if many of us think it’s dead already ?

Real Talk 🔥🔥🔥

💯💯💯

I never stop the lyricism. It's not just rhyming, it's reaching out , connecting & communicating . Poetry that's real (or thinkable) & I'm so passionate about it. 💪🏽✌🏽🎤🙏🏽

AGREE!

🫡 keep lyricism alive

I feel you on this 💯🫡

Very important for generations to swap Knowledge in life. Time and time again I've seen people end up stucc in their ways because lack of Knowledge. Keep spreading the Knowledge. 🫡🎤🧙♂️

I also love that you read a lot of philosophy. Passing down the knowledge is important as well!

The radio/media fucked up the culture/art with stupid narratives like “hiphops a young mans game” or “being relevant”. This started as soon as them Source covers went glossy 😆

Thank you
