Hearing a whole bunch of senior engine and tools programmers were let go, which might indicate they’re planning to move from id Tech to something like Unreal. Which imo would be awful. Eternal and Dark Ages are technical masterpieces and that deep engine knowledge pays off.

For the Unreal Tournament episode of Secret Level, Blur Studio used Unreal Engine to create a real-time animation pipeline from scratch 🎞️ This allowed the team to achieve movie-quality results which included the use of MetaHumans, special effects and faster iteration when making changes throughout the creation process. Stuck in Roots by Lighting Artist Karim Yasser is an environment made using Unreal Engine 5.5.1 which takes us deep into the woods 🌳 The creation of this project is rooted in Quixel Megascans assets, unique meshes made with Unreal's modelling tools, Lumen and Nanite. Through these tools, Karim was able to approach the project like a canvas to create a more stylized look with higher quality lighting on.

Hermes Agent 0.17 & MiniMax M3 played with Unreal Engine 5.8 MCP for 45 mins (condensed in 1 min video) and spent 10M tokens. Things are improving, we added Text and a Sphere! 🤣 But we failed to create and apply a texture. Note that I have nearly zero knowledge of Unreal Engine 🤷🏻‍♂️ Still experimental and using a lot of tokens due to various issues in tool calling. But it was a lot of fun to play with! 🚀 I bet we'll see amazing things out of this new UE 5.8 MCP!
