This isn't just rhetoric. On June 10, Hegseth deployed Marines he called "primed for lethality" against protesters in Los Angeles. As Trump rebrands the DoD because "War has a stronger sound," his admin has already eliminated the Army office dedicated to minimizing civilian harm. They aren't raising warriors to defend the nation. They're forging a weapon to be aimed at the citizenry.
