This is why the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh did not want the Red Crescent "to import" flour into Nagorno-Karabakh during the blockade in 2023. Nobody wants to be given bread and taken a selfie with it. Fred is one of the few Armenians left in Stepanakert. There is no news of the rest (13).

Donald Trump will ask Baku to release “23 Christians” - ethnic Armenians held in Azerbaijani prisons. He said this during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House on August 8. “That’s very important, right?” Trump remarked. The prisoners in question are former leaders of the now-defunct, self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Trials are underway in Baku, where they face charges of war crimes, terrorism, attempts to overthrow Azerbaijan’s state power, and other serious offenses.

Nikol Pashinyan ridiculed an Artsakh Armenian woman in the Yerevan Metro, referring to her as a “fugitive” and stating that Artsakh Armenians fled, while speaking to her in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. The exchange began when Pashinyan attempted to hand the woman’s child a small map of Armenia. The mother responded that they were from Artsakh and had a different map. Pashinyan replied, “Your son will live in this map. Keep that in mind. We will not allow your ideology.” He then raised his voice, pointed his finger at the woman, and escalated the situation. During the exchange, Pashinyan stated: “Now you’ve arrived here and say you want to return. We’ve spent the billions earned by the citizens of Armenia for you to stay. Why didn’t you stay?.. Next time, you runaways, don’t you dare say that I gave up Karabakh.” Afterwards, Pashinyan took back his own words. During the past 48 hours, there have been countless reports coming from Artsakh of atrocities and executions including women and children. While we wait for official information, there has been a stream of horrific videos being shared by Azerbaijani channels. These videos show the absolute disregard for innocent life and the brutality and intention of the Azerbaijani military. Prior to today’s emergency UN meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confidently stating during his official announcement that there are no direct threats to the civilian population in NK—an irresponsible assessment which was also used by Azerbaijan to shut down any opposition among UN members. Prime Minister Pashinyan’s statement: “We believe that the people of Nagorno-Karabagh should live in stable, secure conditions. We think that the Armenians in Artsakh should live in worthy, safe conditions. Now, at the moment, our assessment is that there is no direct threat to the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabagh.”
