The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari visited Pakistan occupat Gilgit-Baltistan and his whole speech was about what should happen: there should be better schools, good hospitals, and more electricity. But he never said, "We have already given you this." It was like a joke. People in GB have to protest just to get a simple wall for a school. This proves the government has done almost nothing. He talked about the region's mountains, but everyone knows the resources are mainly taken by outsiders, like China, and not used for the local people. Instead of fixing things at home, he criticized India about its Muslims and Kashmir. This is strange because the people in Indian-held regions are often better off, and all of GB's money is barely equal to what is spent on one small region across the border. The President needs to stop worrying about India and start delivering for Gilgit-Baltistan. All talk, no action. CELEBRATING REPUBLIC DAY IN INDIAN BALTISTAN ( Lankarchey, Kargil, Ladakh ) Dear Friends, Away from the pomp and show of official government functions, the ordinary Indian Kargili Shia Muslim youngsters from Lankarchey village in Suru Valley of Kargil district, which is also known as INDIAN BALTISTAN (not to be confused with BALOCHISTAN) can be seen saluting and marching with Indian National Tricolor flag with a young Kargili Shia Muslim boy rendering Indian National Anthem in the background in heavy Purgi/Balti language accent. THIS IS INDIAN BALTISTAN, where local Balti/Purgi Indian Shia Muslim youngsters decide to proudly make a patriotic video paying tribute to India in their own way just like kids in Uttar Pradesh or Tamil Nadu would do. One of my friends from Kargil sent me this video just now, which he wanted me to share with all of you so that people, especially in Pakistan Occupied Gilgit and Baltistan (PoGB)can have insight into how Indian Balti/Purgi Shia Muslims of Kargil, which they call India's Baltistan mark Indian patriotic days with full nationalistic fervor. The way Pakistanis are celebrating their Independence Day, people in Pakistan are celebrating it more than Indians are celebrating India’s Independence Day. Across Pakistan, people are taking out rallies and roadshows, cutting cakes, and celebrating everywhere. But in reality, it was India that gained independence from the British. Indians fought against the British, and thousands of Hindus and Sikhs sacrificed their lives in the struggle for freedom. The people of Pakistan did not actually fight any war for independence. They committed treachery while living in India and begged for Pakistan, which was previously a part of India. The people of Pakistan did not sacrifice their lives either. They simply demanded a separate country, which was created after India became independent from the British. Yet these shameless Pakistanis celebrate their independence for no reason. They are calling upon the Pakistani Army, its intelligence agencies, and all state institutions and companies associated with exploitative projects to leave Balochistan. Their position is that the people of Balochistan have grown weary of occupation and economic exploitation. The Baloch nation has resolved to determine its own future and believes it is fully capable of managing its own resources, designing its own development policies, and shaping its own destiny. History has shown that when an occupying foreign force is confronted with sustained resistance from the local population, wise nations choose to withdraw rather than continue their occupation. The illegal presence of the occupational forces of Pakistan in the Republic of Balochistan is causing instability across the region. The people of Balochistan had declared their independence, but the rogue state of Pakistan continues to overlook the public verdict of the sixty million Baloch nation. In the free world and democratic societies, the verdict of the people is respected and accepted. However, the Pakistan military, unfamiliar with democratic values, has long relied on brute force to silence a nation of six crore people, yet it has miserably failed. The people of Balochistan had categorically warned Pakistan to halt its exploitation projects under the so-called CPEC and withdraw from the territory of Balochistan, sea of Balochistan, but it seems Pakistan learned nothing from the 1971 Dhaka surrender. At this moment, the Pakistan Army and the ISI are holding nearly 40,000 Baloch prisoners hostage, some of whom have been abducted for over two decades. When families spend every Eid waiting for their loved ones, only to receive mutilated dead bodies of their unarmed and innocent relatives, anger and resistance are inevitable against the invading Pakistan Army.
