💔🥺We had another night of extreme fear, my dear friends. Another night full of warplanes and shooting. The people living in tents are in even greater misery, and they continuously need our help. Many of them are orphans, and it is heartbreaking that they have nowhere to go. Their families are gone, and the few remaining orphanages have no space for them. 🙏The cats in the streets also live in great fear due to the constant bombing. They are hungry and carry diseases. Their fur looks awful, and many have rashes and infected eyes. Life here is worse than hell, my dear friends. 🙏The prices of what little remains are exorbitantly high, and the merchants show no shame in exploiting every one of us. Most people cannot even afford a bag of rice. The kitchen is needed now more than ever. This means I must plead with you once again: please support us financially. 🙏I want to help as many people and animals as I possibly can, but this is only possible with your help. If you can spare even a little, your donation to the kitchen fundraiser would make a life-saving difference for many, especially children. And if you would be so kind, please also think of the cats. 🫂Chef Khaled made his delicious yellow rice for the camp today, my friends, and people were very happy when they received their meals because it's a favorite for many. I wanted to tell you we are working daily to distribute food and water for the camp, and we do this even when I do not mention it in my updates. These poor people rely on us to help them survive, and we wish we could do more for them in these cruel and miserable times. It is awful to see the horrific pictures of people living in tents who have nothing to save them from a bomb or a fire. My heart breaks for the animals too, my friends, because they are also helpless and they are suffering terribly in these conditions. 💔Things are escalating in areas near ours, and I don't know how much longer I will be able to communicate with you every day, my friends. There is nowhere to go that is safe, and people are targeted in their homes as they hide from the horror, so there is no safe path forward. I am so tired, I have not slept through the night in weeks and months, surviving on the occasional hour of silence that allows us to rest. Going outside is becoming increasingly dangerous, and I worry about what will happen to our friends in the camp as the army approaches, as well as the poor animals who are still living helplessly on the streets. We desperately need you, my friends. Your help is what has kept us alive to this point, and we are so grateful for your support. 🥺💔We are so incredibly destroyed by the disappointment that was this ceasefire; in fact I'm not sure if there was even a moment in time that we felt safe, not even for one minute, and the bombing and violence has returned even closer and more destructive than ever. The situation we stand in remains as dire as ever, and every day we get closer to the most horrific and miserable death that anyone can imagine - that is, to slowly starve to death in front of the world. It's painful to walk around and video the suffering people - they were once proud and esteemed individuals who likely had a prosperous job and a home to live in - now reduced to begging and crying on the streets for cameras who will only humiliate them in front of the world. I show you what I can, my friends, because I want people to know that we are here, trying to live and trying to help others live too, but I am always conscious of the people who are being shown, because going through this is miserable enough. 🫂It's a terrifying feeling, my friends, to have a spark of hope while you are also fighting the certainty of your own death and of everyone you hold dear. It breaks my heart to see the animals who look so sickly thin on the streets, the cats and dogs who have survived for so long, only to starve. How much longer will this seige be placed on us? Until every living thing has died? Bombed or burnt to death to become someone's nightmare or starved until we are only skeletons? I'm sorry to bring you such a heavy update today, my friends, but I am feeling desolate and I am feeling very hopeless too, seeing so many desperate and starving families living in tents has broken my heart. I'm sorry to bring you such a heavy update today, my friends, but I am feeling desolate and I am feeling very hopeless too, seeing so many desperate and starving families living in tents has broken my heart. We need aid, more than anyone has ever needed anything, and we need aid so I do not have to watch my beautiful children turn into bones in front of my eyes. Please stand by me, stand by us, I beg you. Stand by us until this horror has ended, so we can repay all the beautiful things you have done for us.
