J. Cole explaining how the 2nd side of The Fall-Off (Disc 39) almost didn’t happen. It was originally gonna be just the Disc 29 version with 15 songs, and it was gonna follow ONLY the concept of Disc 29, but be more interpretative, instead of the way it is now, where the album because divided into 2 sides, and Disc 29 being an a lot more easy to follow story that progresses from song to song… Reminder that these changes came because of the events of the rap beef and the apology that came after it. Before that, J. Cole already had a release date planned for The Fall-Off and it was 8 weeks after Might Delete Later. And that version of The Fall-Off was so very different by the sounds of it. But, the version we got sounds like it’s so much better than that original version, so honestly, we gotta thank Drake & Kendrick for that whole situation cause it led to an even better album from J. Cole 🔥

she actually has had an incredible management team for the past 12 years. columbia records is the issue. they won’t let her make a new album because her most recent album (that the label didn’t even bother to promote) didn’t perform as well as HFK in 2017

I agree but also when she released B'day in 2006, people & the media were so adamant that songs like Ring the alarm & the Aggression on the album was about her relationship with Jay-Z to the point that she had to clarify in interviews that the songs are not an autobiography
