My parents were dog people- BIG dogs like German Shepards. I would spend my time outside trying to entice the neighbor's cat to sit with me LOL. When my parents decided we were moving to a farm I insisted I get my own kitty. I looked just like her getting my first kitten when I was 9. I have had cats ever since- can't imagine life without them.

My first cat: My mom picks us up from the public pool. She says, "Your present is in the house, Derrick, but you have to find it." I open the front door and am surprised when a tiny siamese kitten bolts out. Mom says, "Oh, Derrick! Grab your present!" I named him Xavier. ❤️
