SGA has so much less to do with the Thunder’s success than Jokić has to do with the Nuggets. Case in point: when SGA is out, the Thunder don’t miss a beat. How, pray tell, does that make him a “ceiling raiser?” I’d contend his Team is great with or without him on the floor - he’s a great player and had a great season, but that’s where it ends. The metrics are there, and you’ve quoted them on several occasions but fail to draw the correct conclusion. Jokić is doing something NO ONE has ever done - top 3 in all of the major metrics. Averaged a triple double over the season. Has the largest on the floor/off the floor number in the NBA. It’s staring you right in the face, but sure - if you’re tired of supreme excellence, take the guy who had a great but far inferior year.
