Maybe that’s satisfaction not guilt? Maybe their human was too tired to drive? Maybe their humans needs an excuse to redecorate? What if that one guy needed a shower?!

The dog from 1908 was simply trying to teach the kids a valuable lesson about not playing too close to the river. Better they learn that lesson when there's a big, friendly dog nearby to rescue them rather than waiting until there's nothing but a scrawny cat nearby.

As the dogs legal representation I knew they were good. The jury exonerated each and every one before their trials even finished. The joke's on anyone who would think there's such a thing as a bad dog.
