“Gay friends of mine say [the word “fag”] is offensive to them—even though many of them use it. It’s the same argument as ‘the n word’ for black people. They use it amongst themselves to reclaim that word…but if a white person uses it at then, it’s obviously a disgusting, racist slur. I think we all know that.” I reject this so much. There aren’t words that are off-limits to certain people because of their skin color, sex, or sexual orientation. It’s absurd for gays to use the word “fag” and then be mad when straights use it—just like it’s absurd for blacks to use the word “nigger” and then be mad when whites use it. Pick a lane.
