Here is a great complement to my last post. I'm pleased to present another amazing creation by the master of photogrammetry Marián Marčiš. This 3D model is of the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo in Peru, and features the South wall, that visitors rarely get to see. Enjoy, and make... show more

You can view some of the drone footage used to create this photogrammetric model here:

And here is a 3D model of the greater Sacsayhuaman area he created previously:

@Provehimur This is amazing!I visited just before Covid. I was so struck by the size of it. The steps being too big a span for our stride, the engineering/size of the rocks and how high up they had to be transported all belies a taller people than the Incas building this.

Love it

A great work! This is awesome!

ohhhh my goodness this is amazing

wow yeah this overview looks like an eco friendly mine, they added terraces to feed the work forces as they built those crazy walls to shore up the cliffs they were mining. Really amazing work you are doing. Thank you.

There is flying a drone and then there is mastering a drone. This is an example of mastering the drone.

Wow! This is amazing!

thank you! its soo coool!!

Fantastic !!

I like Ollantaytambo more than Machu Picchu. Probably because I e spent more time there. Amazing

this is my favorite site. thanks!

Absolutely perfect! I also recommend seeing Kailasa Temple (India) if you haven't seen it.

Yes! Definitely on my list when I go to India!

Extremely well done. My hat is off to you both. Very impressive.

Thank you very much.

Absolutely. Looking forward to whatever comes next.

Marvelous.

Extraordinary stuff. How accurate is it as far as using this footage as historical evidence?

What do you mean? As evidence of what?

Were I to use this footage as evidence of some theory, would it be regarded as accurate enough to use as evidence?

I guess it depends what your theory is. You could also use the original drone footage from which the model was created.

I, personally, don't have any theories. I lean in certain directions, following the work of others. It just struck me that the modelling used could be put to good use as a demonstration of some concept or idea.

Impressive work! What kind of computing power do you need to pull this off?

Incredible!

Amazing! Such a crazy accomplishment!

That is literally ...something else.

This is awesome! Thank you for sharing.

@RABproducer Thanks Ryan. Good to see you here!

architectural unearthly madness.

@FoMaHun –– this was a surprise for me!
