Yeah, he’s simply a motivational speaker who uses a Bible verse in a message to justify him calling his business a “church”. Being a talented “preacher” can be quite lucrative and very tax-advantaged. I’d bet his 403b is massive.

Does anybody care today that Spurgeon was kicked out of the Baptist Union? No, they do not. Does anybody even care about what the Baptist Union is? No, we do not. Do we care that Spurgeon stood for his convictions? Yes, we do. And those convictions are built upon over time. The Church of England, though great as it is, mighty as it is, is a denomination in rubble and ultimately what matters is the convictions that you stand for and the true unity that you build with other believers."

He says it would take a human over 500,000 years to read that much. But a 4-year-old child sees just as much visual data in their first few years of life. This shows how much richer and more complex real-world experience is compared to reading text. Training on the web is huge but it still doesn’t match what a child learns just by living.
